Sophie Wingerd

Sophie Wingerd began her performance career as a young child in Grass Valley California as a dancer studying all forms of dance but focusing mainly on ballet.

In 2008 Sophie began aerial classes with AirAligned aerial dance group. Aerial Dance was something that Sophie quickly excelled at.

Sophie was asked to become a teachers assistant with AirAligned in 2010.

Also at that time Sophie became an assistant for Julie Lang Acro/Dance teacher at Sierra Dance Institute and performed locally in Grass Valley with SDI, AirAligned and PAG children’s theater at The Center for the Arts.

In 2012 Sophie was accepted into Le Studio in Los Angeles CA under the direction of Nathalie Yves Gaulthier. She performed in the Le PeTiT Cirque Troupe from 2013-2014

While in LA advanced Studies were obtained through Cirque School LA. Also while in Los Angeles Sophie worked for Kristy Beauvais owner/director of Focus Fish teaching all ages aerial classes in: Static Trapeze, Aerial Hoop, Aerial Fabric, Aerial Hammock and Aerial Rope.

Currently Sophie is on the teaching staff for AirAligned aerial dance group working primarily with advanced performance students.

Sophie is also available to perform for corporate and commercial productions as a professional dancer, acrobat and aerialist.
